So much information…!

Okay, so far so good but on the face of it, there’s a wealth of information here. For someone new to this, it’s almost, almost overwhelming.

Figures, statistics…access to more figures, graphs, statistics…what’s good? What’s bad? Where do you learn all this stuff?

“Oh right! You don’t have to do anything.” so sayeth the sales spiel. If I don’t have to do anything, then there’s a lot of info here for me to do nothing with.

Step 2

Then you proceed down the page to the next step.

Step 02 Access the AffiliateX softwareBy clicking on the highlighted, * IMPORTANT * link, you access the Affiliate X software.

You then get to watch a video which explains about AffiliateX, a bit of what you need to do, and so forth. This is really straightforward to setup.

Then you go onto the main page of Affiliate X:

The Hot 100I’ve blanked out the products but you can see the detailed information here.

As I mentioned, I’m new to all this, what does all this mean?

Anyway, we can look at that later. Onto the next step.

So I signed up…

and got sent to the step-by-step page to setup my website:

Step 1 of setting up your websiteYou do this and setup your website. I picked a website in the lose weight niche. The website setup only accepts .com URL’s. I’d done a bit of research on keywords and had identified what could have possibly been a good URL/keyword to focus on.

Unfortunately the keyword I wanted was a .net and AffiliateX won’t let you do this. As such, I picked a URL which wasn’t the one I wanted.

The back-end process then kicked in (and the website was created in a little over the promised time but we are talking minutes here, no longer) and then it was onto step 2.

Sales Pitch

I signed up a while back to Google Sniper (which I like a lot by the way). I haven’t reviewed GS as there are dozens of sites out there reviewing it.

- – - AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT??? – - -

When I was browsing through them, researching info on whether it was a good product, I couldn’t find a bad review. Now, that means it’s either a fantastic product or… people are just out to get you clicking on their affiliate links. As I said, I used it, I still use it and it’s got a lot of good information there. Whether the information is anything new is not something I can comment on. What it was though, was new for me.

Now, if I put an affiliate link to George’s Sniper site here, you’d totally understand the irony of it wouldn’t you :-) ? As I said, I do like GS but I’m not going to put it here. if you want to try it, then click over  on the right where it says Google Sniper.

It was via GS that i saw the link to AffiliateX and, after clicking on the banner, I got (this summarises okay, I’m not going to put all the sales page, just the bits I focused on):

Inside Affiliate X

I have to admit, AffiliateX looks well laid out. Horizontal menu bars just underneath the main header, that affords easy navigation to all, throughout the site; that’s good.

Inside AffiliateX - Menu bar

There’s a lot of information on this site, a lot! But, first, before we go into all this, how did I get here?

Okay, slightly embarrassing!

It is slightly embarassing as I haven’t fulfilled my promise of posting more onto this site to help you, the reader. There are reasons for it of course but they’re all personal so apologies for that but, c’est la vie, as always, unforeseen and unexpected.

In the meantime though, I have delved a little deeper into AffiliateX and what it’s about, etc.

I’ll walk-through my setup of the product, my experiences with it and where I am now.

The dates are a little off but this all happened pretty much within a week or so. I’m now trying to get all the information on the review site to aid you, not to mislead and to tell it like it is.

Why is that?

Have you ever wondered why it is when you look at a product review site that all of them end up promoting that particular product?

It doesn’t matter if the URL (the web address) is ‘xyz_product_scam.xyz; it’ll still end up promoting the product and then tell you to get the product here!

I’ve noticed a few sites appear as soon as the product launches and give basic details with the promise of more; yet, when you go back a few weeks later, they’ve not given any further information, not delved any deeper and, basically, haven’t bothered doing much more.

If, like me, you’ve been looking around the Internet, this is an all too common sight.

Anyway, back to AffiliateX reviews…is it any good? We shall see.

Rationale

This is the first post. As the name tells this site is going to review Affiliate X, a product released by Chris X recently, and chanced upon by myself the other night.

Affiliate X, what’s it all about.

Well, you may or may not have heard of Affiliate Marketing? This is where you basically promote and sell (or hope to sell) other people’s products and get a commission on the sale. It’s fairly popular by all accounts with some of the spiel out there stating some people have made a fortune out of it. I was going to say some lucky people out there but I believe we make our own luck in this life and sometimes you have to work hard to make that luck.

Anyway, as I’ll cover a bit later, I’m a complete novice at this and I came across the Affiliate X website via George Brown’s Google Sniper (which I signed up for a while back).

I’ve recently co-authored and self-published a book and am trying to sell that.  I built a website around that and when it didn’t rank anywhere in Google I tried to find out why.

In a past life, I used to be a Techie Writer and used to design basic websites. I’m okay with with html and some of the Internet-type technologies so I can put a website together. Unfortunately, before this latest venture, the last time I constructed a website was about 6 years ago and I built the book’s site based on what I knew – it sure has changed a lot since then :-) hence I signed up to George’s, Google Sniper in an attempt to move it up the rankings.

Anyway, back to Affiliate X…I read the sales letter that Chris X has on the site (but will go more into that later); it offers so much! Is it a scam, is it fake, can I make it work, will it work?

I have a bit of time on my hands at the moment so thought, what the heck, I’d give it a go: Affiliate X and Chris state that you have a 60-day, no quibble, money-back guarantee – so, on the basis of that, what do I have to lose? I signed up on the 31st May 2011 (more on that later) and followed the instructions that were laid out and setup my first website. It was setup fairly quickly, within 10 minutes.

Anyway, this site isn’t about my Affiliate X-constructed website, it’s about an Affiliate X review. It’s going to be a review site with a bit of a difference though:

  • Obviously it’s done by me but the thing is, as I touched on briefly before, I have never done any of this Affiliate selling: I am a complete, total, never been done before, novice at affiliate marketing; absolutely nothing!
  • I’m also not a salesman: I don’t think I’ve sold anything ‘properly’ (if that’s such a word we can use in this manner) in all my life.
  • I’m going to be honest about this. To you and to myself. I signed up with Clickbank a couple of months ago but have been snowed under with other ‘work’ and though I’ve agreed to be an affiliate for some products I’ve gone no further in terms of PPC, Adwords, websites – nothing. Here’s a screenshot of my account as of this morning, two minutes ago:

Russ' Clickbank Account 3rd, June 2011Expect to see thousand’s of $ there? Like I said, I’m a novice and this is the first product I’ve ever promoted.

Why choose Affiliate X

I have looked at other Affiliate Marketing websites and have been tempted by their offers of huge rewards but have gone no further with them. So why choose Affiliate X?

Well, my college stuff has finished and I have a couple of weeks spare before we move abroad. I thought I’d give this a go. A little bit of quick Internet research showed that Chris X is an experienced marketeer and has made a lot of money. The sales page states ease of setup, ease of use and, ultimately, quick results: if I don’t at the least get a return on my money within 6 weeks then I’ll cancel and get the refund from Affiliate X.

All I’ve then lost is $8.90 to get this domain name and some time to put a few posts together. That’s it really.

Let’s see how I get on…
